Prior conferences and meetings in Luleå

Luleå Convention Bureau, together with local hosts and local businesses, has supported a number of organizations and associations that chose Luleå in competition with other cities. Here are some examples of meetings that have landed in Luleå.

The Swedish Innovation Parliament - SIR is the annual conference of the Swedish industry association SISP (Swedish Incubators & Science Parks). SIR brings together the core of Sweden's national and regional actors from innovation environments, politics, business, academia and society. Those who work to promote, strengthen and develop innovation, business and policies based on current societal challenges. Luleå Science Park, together with Arctic Business and Boden Business Park, has applied for and won the 2024 edition of the Innovation Parliament to Luleå-Boden. In total, over 300 participants are expected.

The Association of Investigative Journalists' conference Grävseminariet and Guldspadegalan took place in Luleå in 2022. The association works to create better conditions for investigative journalists. The organizing group consists of employees from Norr Media, SVT, SR and the journalists' association Barents Press. A total of up to 800 journalists participated.

The Association of Swedish Public Purchasers arranges the SOI Annual Conference. A forum where public purchasers gathered to get skills development, network and improve the regulations for public procurement and procurement. Luleå municipality's purchasing department was behind the application. A total of about 700 participants participated.

The Swedish Medical Technology Association (MTF) arranged the Medical Technology Days in Luleå together with Luleå University of Technology and Region Norrbotten as local hosts. Here, the industry's various players gathered; the medical device engineering corps, researchers, companies, experts, authorities, patient representatives and representatives of the health and medical care sector. The aim was to stimulate increased knowledge exchange, networking, collaboration and continued development of medical technology in Sweden. A total of 500 participants participated.
